Angolan Military Christians: The indigenously-organized military Christian fellowship in Angola desires to "spread the Good News of Christ" and "share Bible studies and prayer for the transforming presence of God in those military and police personnel who, as happens in Angolan society in general, are affected by negative life styles that are recognized as contributing to elevated numbers of deaths (suicides, the consumption of drugs and alcohol, prostitution, and witchcraft). Pray for these brothers in Christ as they fulfill these objectives.

He is Risen, Indeed!!
"The risen Christ, when he shows himself to his friends, takes on the countenance of all races and earth can hear him in his own tongue."-- Henri De Lubac. (Click here for more Easter quotations.)
Good Friday Meditation: "A more sympathetic consideration of the personal element in the sufferings of our Lord, the meditation upon the sorrows of the Messiah, would prove a source of spiritual quickening not only to those who are accustomed to live in the region of philosophic thought, but also to those who are in the midst of evangelistic work. The following of Christ down into the valley of humiliation and death, the study, day by day, of the last days of His earthly life, the reverent watch by the cross, the waiting for the resurrection--these are spiritual exercises which cannot fail to give warmth and reality to the Christian faith...Passion week deserves its place in the calendar of the private Christian...". - author unattributed, Christian Age

In the News - Building Inter-Nation Relationships via the Military While in China last week, Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. Secretary of State, stated, "We think that one of the strongest means by which to improve transparency is the mil-to-mil relationship... militaries are, first and foremost, a profession and they understand these issues in ways that I think just reading a document or producing a report could never do. And so we’ve always thought that the mil-to-mil relationship is the most important way to do that." [Click here]
